ABOUT KANG HAN MANSFIELD

Kang Han Taekwondo Mansfield was established in 2001 by Master Darrell Carrington [6th Dan]. It is a sister-club to Kang Han Taekwondo Hucknall, Kang Han Taekwondo Lowdham and Kang Han Ravenshead.

At Kang Han, we provide a safe space for both adults and children to learn Taekwondo.

We promote the tenets of the martial art: courtesy, perseverance, integrity, self-control and indomitable spirit.

Alongside teaching Taekwondo we aim to improve our student's confidence, flexibility, strength and discipline.

Being part of Kang Han Mansfield means being part of a family where both students and instructors work to better each other.

MEET OUR STAFF

Master Carrington has been practicing Taekwondo for over 30 years. In that time he has competed over 150 times both at home and abroad (even competing for Great Britain). He is Head Sparring Coach for Kang Han Mansfield.

As of January 2025, Master Carrington is a coach for the National Para-Poomsae Squad.

Darrell Carrington [6th Dan]

Owner and Chief Instructor

Andrew has been practicing Taekwondo for 20 years. He is both student and instructor. Andrew has competed and coached and is extremely knowledgeable in all facets of Taekwondo.

Alice David [4th Dan]

Alice has been practicing Taekwondo for 10 years. She coaches both sparring and patterns team as competitions, sits on the kup grading panel, assists in running the Wednesday Kickstar class.

Sam is a leading figure in para-Taekwondo; she is on the British Taekwondo Para-Poomsae Squad. Not only has she competed for both club and country but she is the current world para-poomsae champion. Sam is the lead Poomsae coach for Mansfield.

Mark Sturtivant [4th Dan]

Mark began his taekwondo journey in the 1990s where he trained under Ren Robinson and Master Ray Lightfoot. It is during this time that he met Master Darrell Carrington. As well as coaching, Mark currently competes in patterns.
